International students from all over the world come to the California Institute of Jewelry Training to learn the skills and art of jewelry making, gemology, and appraising. Our students come from our neighbors Mexico and Canada and from as far away as Japan, India, China, Sweden, and Brazil. CIJT provides a home away from home for all our international students during their stay.
Student candidates from countries outside the United States are encouraged to enroll while they are in the US on a Tourist Visa. CIJT will do all we can do to make your visit to the US enjoyable. Please call the details.
CIJT is located in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood in Fair Oaks, California. Fair Oaks is a suburb of Sacramento, the City of Trees. Shopping centers, public transportation, and parks are within walking distance. The American River for rafting and good fishing is less than 10 minutes away. There are many interesting places to go and things to do in the state's capitol: history, theater, art, a 50-mile bicycle trail and historic Old Sacramento. The heart of the 49er Gold Country is less than an hour away.
We are geographically located between Reno, Nevada to the east, and San Francisco to the west. Each is approximately 90 miles by freeway. South Lake Tahoe, about 1.5 hours into the mountains, is where you will find skiing, gaming, and entertainment.
Good shopping and excellent public transportation are available. Sacramento Regional Transit includes bus and light rail systems, offering easy access to Amtrak and Sacramento's International Airport.
